AGEST has been the industry super fund for Commonwealth Government employees since its inception in 1990. AGEST has been nominated by the Commonwealth Government as the default fund for public sector employees who are entitled to superannuation contributions under the Superannuation (Productivity Benefit) Act 1988; and for new Members of Federal Parliament after the 2004 Federal Election. The NT Government and many privatised Government agencies have also chosen AGEST as the default fund for their employees' super.
